Project Overview
DANUBE delivered a complete industrial mesh belt drying solution for fresh chrysanthemum flowers to a botanical processing client in India. The production line includes an inclined feeding conveyor for raw flowers, an industrial multi-layer drying chamber, a flat discharge conveyor for quality inspection, and an intuitive central control system.
Engineered specifically for delicate floral materials, the drying system provides controlled low-temperature moisture removal and smooth automated material handling, helping the customer scale up production while preserving the vibrant natural color, aromatic essential oils, and intact shape of chrysanthemum flowers.
Customer’s Processing Requirements
Fresh chrysanthemums contain a high moisture ratio and delicate natural pigments. For high-grade flower tea, botanical extracts, or traditional medicine applications, moisture removal must be handled with care.
For commercial floral processors in India, primary challenges include:
Petal & Shape Integrity: Excessive mechanical handling or high-velocity forced air can cause petals to drop or lose their complete flower shape.
Color & Fragrance Retention: High temperatures easily destroy natural yellow/white hues and scorch aromatic volatile oils, resulting in poor flavor and reduced commercial value.
Drying Uniformity: Flower heads have dense core structures; uneven heating leaves moisture trapped in the center, causing rapid mold formation during storage.
Weather Hazards: Traditional sun drying exposes flowers to tropical humidity, rainstorms, insects, and atmospheric dust contamination.

To overcome these processing hurdles, DANUBE designed a specialized continuous drying line tailored for fragile botanical materials:
1. Automated Inclined Conveyor & Gentle Loading
Fresh chrysanthemums are fed continuously into the loading zone and elevated smoothly via an inclined belt conveyor. This automated feeding ensures a uniform, thin bed of flowers entering the drying chamber without squashing or bruising delicate petals.
2. Multi-Layer Continuous Material Handling
Flowers move gently along multi-tier stainless steel mesh belts inside the insulated chamber. Gentle transfer between belt layers allows flowers to flip naturally, ensuring thoroughly uniform hot-air penetration from all angles.
3. Precision Low-Temperature Airflow Control
The system delivers clean, controllable warm air with precise multi-zone temperature adjustments. Controlled low-to-medium heating gradually removes surface and interior moisture while locking in bright petal color, aromatic essential oils, and active natural compounds.
4. Post-Drying Inspection & Packaging Conveyor
Dried chrysanthemums exit the main chamber onto a flat belt discharge conveyor. Workers can perform immediate quality sorting and inspection before manual or automated packaging into shipping cartons.
